7.62mm ASHOT rifle - Part 5: Assemble and Firing

If you haven't read previous chapter, click here to go back to Part 1

Rifle overall length: ~63cm
Barrel length (excluding chamber): 50cm.
With chamber:
~55cm

I can try to reduce the overall length down to 60cm by shorten the breech and shoulder stock. But that will throw the balance off and I'm kinda exhausted after all that work.

The stock is simply a PVC splitter

Shooting

Testing it's capability at intermediate range (<100m)

And a bunch of random targets

The shot graze a tree. Doesn't look like much at the front. But it sure take a big chunk from it.

Bore Sighting

Aligning the iron sight (or scope) to where the center of the bore is pointing to is called "bore sighting". I came up with a trick to help me zero my sight without expensive equipment, and with minimal shot fired

I rolled some paper so that they fit snug inside of the bore. With a little hole in the middle (the smaller the hole, the more accurate it is, but too small and you can't see shit).

Put one at the muzzle, the other at the breech. This will turn your bore into a peep sight.

Use this bore-peep-sight to aim at a target (fix your barrel on a tripod or something). Then align your optic/iron accordingly

This rifle is simple, man can arm themself with some basic tools, metal and 2 strong hand, allow them to defend from animal or tyrants (tyrants are animal too, the most dangerous kind).

Fuck gun control :)
